YFNCC Announces the Creation of the Yukon First Nation Chamber of Commerce Scholarship

Michelle Kolla, President of the Yukon First Nation Chamber of Commerce (YFNCC) is pleased to
announce the establishment of the Yukon First Nation Chamber of Commerce Scholarship.

Michelle Kolla, stated, “Three years ago, as we developed our strategic plan and workplan, the Board and
I felt a need to engage, support, and nurture our youth to take over from us, to assume the responsibilities
associated with becoming a leader in the northern economy. It is our responsibility to invest in our youth,
to support and guide them, as they find their place in the world.”

The scholarship will be administered by the Yukon Foundation, and the scholarship will be for Yukon First
Nation youth to assist with their education as they develop their careers in a profession of their choosing, whether it be in the fields of legal, medical, trades, business, commerce, arts, or other.

Michael Pealow, Chair of the Yukon Foundation, added, “The Yukon Foundation is honoured to host the Yukon First Nation Chamber of Commerce Scholarship. With over 40 years of experience administering grants and scholarships, we know that scholarships like this one will support Yukon’s First Nation youth as they pursue meaningful careers and contribute to their communities.”

The YFNCC scholarship will be available for applications in 2023.
