Green Raven Environmental Inc. is an Indigenous owned and operated environmental consulting company. It has grown as a response to the many concerns expressed by Indigenous leaders and Elders to help protect Indigenous values and elevate Indigenous Knowledges within environmental management frameworks. While we apply wise practices and work within existing legislative and regulatory environmental frameworks, we recognize the limits of these frameworks in appropriately considering Indigenous rights, title and knowledges. As Indigenous governments pursue their rights to self-determination, we specialize in identifying environmental management and governance practices that reflect and respect the values and customs of the Indigenous Nations where these practices will be applied. We adopt an interdisciplinary approach to customize solutions that include: cross-cultural and trans-disciplinary facilitation; co-design of culturally appropriate research methods; and analysis of environmental policies in relation to Indigenous rights, values and interests.
